The Division of 多样性、股票, 和 包容 provides university-wide 领导 和 accountability in developing a diverse, 公平的, 和 inclusive academic 环境. In collaboration with campus 和 community partners, the division of DEI is an institutional resource that supports the university's mission 和 strategic imperatives. The division empowers the campus community toward the advancement of socially just research, 创意作品, 教学, 和 public service to the Colorado community 和 beyond.

The division serves as an advocate in promoting 股本 by shaping university policies, 实践, 和程序. The division of DEI also supports the access 和 success of historically marginalized communities through the fostering of a diverse, 公平的, 和 inclusive campus climate.

  • Black Community Initiatives

    As part of its DEI action plan, DU is committing resources to address its in一致的 history 和 uneven, on-going support of our Black community members.   • Interdisciplinary Research Institute for the Study of (In)Equality (IRISE)

    The Interdisciplinary Research Institute for the Study of (In)Equality (IRISE) is the intellectual home for 教师 和 students to engage in the development of cutting edge interdisciplinary research on issues of inequality, 社会正义, 和包容性. IRISE seeks to advance Inclusive Excellence, 多样性, 和ca88登录正确网址的股权, as well as furthering DU's public good mission by extending 和 connecting this work across campus to locally diverse communities in a comprehensive 和 meaningful way.

  • Indigenous 和 Native American Initiatives

    ODEI supports Indigenous 和 Native American initiatives including increasing access to a DU education through support 和 financial aid. They also include addressing the recruitment 和 retention of Native American 和 Indigenous 教师 和 工作人员, building an on-campus S和 Creek Massacre memorial, as well as a permanent interior exhibit with accompanying curricula on DU’s history 和 exploring the creation of a Center for Native American 和 Indigenous Studies, 在其他努力中.

It is known that exposure to a broad spectrum of perspectives 和 diverse forms of knowledge leads to a more stimulating 和 rich educational experience for students 和 教师.

  • 教师 和 工作人员 Affinity Group 支持

    Affinity groups serve as important support, promoting the success of underrepresented 教师 和 工作人员. The Director of the Office of 多样性、股票, 和 包容 serves as the liaison providing support 和 service to 教师 affinity groups, while HRIC provides support 和 service to 工作人员 affinity groups, helping to promote successful employment on campus.

Since the launch of the annual Diversity Summit twenty years ago, the University of Denver has worked to engage 和 critically question the ways in which we as a community (students, 工作人员, 教师, 校友, 领导, 和 community partners) could more fully embody our commitment to 多样性, 股本, 和包容(DEI). 从2020年开始, DU’s DEI work will engage in five areas of impact, each with specific action items, aimed at securing 领导, 采取行动, 和 increasing accountability 和 consistency across the university. This action plan will serve as a new platform as we enter into the next stages of our vision for a more diverse, 公平的, 包容性DU.
